Nathan Hays is working on his Masters in Biomimicry and Architecture at Arizona State University and knows that the Living Building Challenge is the first of its kind; a comprehensive, scale spanning systems solution to sustaining building certification. Nathan feels that by emulating nature, the LBC addresses the current challenges of the building industry as well as problems in current sustainable building certification. [Both the R. W. Kern Center at Hampshire and the Hitchcock Center for the Environment, are certified living buildings built by Wright Builders, Inc.]
